Emma Rigby Quits Hollyoaks

Rigby scooped the Best Actress award at this year's British Soap Awards and hopes to pursue other drama, film and theatre projects.
The 19-year-old, who plays Hannah Ashworth, told Digital Spy, "I've been on Hollyoaks since I was 15 and I've grown up on the show. I'm so very fortunate to be given the opportunity to learn my craft in such a fantastic environment. I just feel that the time is right to move on and hopefully get into dramas and films as I love to play different roles."
Emma finishes filming with the Chester-based soap in March and will remain on screen until June.
McKee To Leave Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks actress Roxanne McKee is to leave the soap after nearly three years of playing Louise Summers, reports DigitalSpy.

Speaking of her decision to quit, McKee said, I have enjoyed my time at Hollyoaks immensely and I’m going to really miss everyone at Lime Pictures."
"I have learned so much and will take away with me many happy memories - not just from everyone I have worked with but from Liverpool as a city too, which has become my second home. I know I will shed a few tears on the day I leave but I am so excited about what the future holds."

His feelings for Craig begin to resurface and he's forced to make the biggest decision of his life - stay with his fiancé, Father Kieron Hobbs (Jake Hendriks), or reunite with his former love.
Hollyoaks Star Guy To Return

The 24-year-old, quit the show in August when his character left for Dublin, after his affair with John Paul was exposed at Craig and Sarah's engagement party.
With his heart set on rekindling his romance with John Paul (James Sutton), Craig makes a shocking return.
Craig also uncovers some shocking skeletons hiding in his family's closet.
Speaking of his decision to return, Guy said, "I've had so much support from the McDean fans since I left the show and so it’s great to have the opportunity to reprise the storyline and give viewers a resolution to the Craig and John Paul story."

Matt Littler Quits Hollyoaks

The 26-year-old will bow out in July in a dramatic exit surrounding his wedding to Steph Dean.
Darren Jon Jefferies has returned to filming as Max's best friend O.B. for his final scenes.
Speaking of his exit, Matt Littler said, "I feel that I have grown up on Hollyoaks over the past eleven years and I’m not only leaving behind friends but also family. I wouldn't change a second of my time at Hollyoaks and working with Darren Jon Jefferies has been amazing – every second of it! I'd just like to thank everyone who has made my life at Hollyoaks a very happy one."
Producer Bryan Kirkwood added, "...Matt is a talented directed as well as a successful actor and although Max's exit marks the end of an era on screen, Matt's not going too far as he will be directing a few episodes of Hollyoaks in the not too distant future."
Merna Talks Uncontrollabe Boobs

Gemma Merna has admitted that she struggles to control her breasts while filming Hollyoaks.
The actress, who plays Carmel McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, said that she often suffers wardrobe malfunctions due to her large chest and revealed that she uses "t*t tape" to keep herself covered up.
She told Nuts: "There have been quite a few wardrobe errors, yes! It's hard to control these two [points at boobs]."
"They sometimes have a mind of their own - so thank goodness for t*t tape!"
Talking about her bosom, she added, "I do like my boobs but it does get a bit annoying with blokes talking to your boobs."
"The first thing people always say to me on shoots is, 'your t*ts look great!'. And I think, 'Well, thank you, but there's more to me than that!'"
Merna also admitted to being "naughty behind closed doors", claiming that she was only "sweet and innocent" when in public.
Hollyoaks Star ‘Jake Dean’ Quits

Speaking of his decision to quit, the actor said: "I have been here since I was 24 and I turned 30 in March. I decided that once I turned 30 I'd go and explore other avenues. We have a lot of good actors on the show and it's good to see them go on to do great things because people are always saying that Hollyoaks actors are rubbish, which is so unfair and untrue.”
"I'd love to go and do something and people say 'oh look there's Kev, he's doing well and he's one of our lot."
A Hollyoaks source told DigitalSpy, "Jake's mental health issues will play a big part in his downfall, which ties in with one of the soap's big ongoing storylines involving Warren and Louise.”
"It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to realise who he's accused of killing, but there are twists along the way culminate in Jake's exit from the soap - and one of them includes a wallet which is found in his belongings..."
Sacre filmed his final scenes last week and will remain on screen until May. He joined the soap in 2002 as Jake Dean and has been part of many high-profile storylines.
Hollyoaks Star 'Frustrated' At 'Underrated Soap'

The actress, who plays Carmel McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, revealed that the cast and crew will be fighting for more recognition this year.
Gemma told the Daily Star, "We are completely underrated as a show, which is so frustrating. People just think we are gorgeous models who have nothing else to offer."
"But the truth is we have some seriously talented actors and we're fed up with being the little sister to Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale. We're fighters and we're so passionate about what we do. We have the balls and just go for it. And I think we should get credit for that!"
Merna was nominated for the Best Newcomer title at last year's British Soap Awards, lost out to Coronation Street actress Kym Ryder.
She added, "When we don't pick up awards, it just makes us even more determined to go out and prove we can be even better...we can pack a good punch."
"We're not going to stop fighting to get the recognition we deserve. We're damn good actors and we will prove that over the next 12 months."
New Maria Planted In Hollyoaks

Summer Strallen, 23, has been playing Summer Shaw in the Channel 4 soap since October.
Fans of the soap have seen her pursue her dreams of West End stardom, even stalking Lord Lloyd Webber. In today's episode, she finally impressed Webber.
In reality Strallen, the niece of Bonnie Langford, secured the role in The Sound Of Music six months ago. Strallen previously appeared in Cats.
Over the next month, viewers will watch Strallen rehearse in the run-up to opening night on February 26, when she exits Hollyoaks and makes her debut in London's West End.
She will succeed Connie Fisher, who won the role in the BBC1 talent contest How Do We Solve A Problem Like Maria?
Lloyd Webber said he was approached with the idea before the BBC talent contest was broadcast. Hollyoaks producer Tony Wood suggested blurring reality and fiction when he was working at Coronation Street.
Lloyd Webber said, "I thought, 'Do you know what, it's never been done before and it's funny.'"

Hollyoaks Babe Urges Lesbian Corrie Plot

The actress, who plays Zoe Carpenter, revealed that she is proud to be part of a "saucy" soap and claimed that Corrie chiefs need to spice up their show.
"Hollyoaks is easily the sauciest. I love it. Emmerdale isn't too bad. They have sexed it up recently," Zoe told the Daily Star.
"But Corrie needs some work. It needs some lesbian action. I reckon Samia Smith as Maria and Tina O'Brien as Sarah would have made a great gay couple."
"I'd definitely do a lesbian love scene in Hollyoaks," she added. "That would be a really good story."

Gareth Gates Among Dancing On Ice Contestants

As much as I love Dancing On Ice, I must admit that it is a little like the poor man's Strictly Come Dancing. This year's line-up includes Emmerdale actress Linda Lusardi (who plays Carrie), TV presenter Tim Vincent, tennis ace Greg Rusedski, How Clean Is Your House star Aggie MacKenzie, former chart toppers Samantha Mumba and Gareth Gates. Also there is Suzanne Shaw (Hear'say) and Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain (Justin) who is favourite to win. The show starts this weekend on ITV1.
