Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup have been voted as the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2008, following a contreversial week.

The Holby City acor beat singer Rachel Stevens in the final after Lisa Snowdown was voted out earlier in the night.

Google/PA - Singer Rachel Stevens refused to join criticism of Strictly Come Dancing bosses after a tie between two couples, including herself, caused chaos with the public votes. The 30-year-old star said a decision had to be made "on the spot" after judges in the hit show awarded the same number of points to model Lisa Snowdon along with herself, and their partners. This meant that Holby City actor Tom Chambers could not be saved from the dance-off, no matter how many public votes he received. To avoid this, Strictly bosses decided to allow all three couples to go through to the final. Asked to comment, Stevens said: "I think some decisions had to be made on the spot, I think that is what happened." She added that she was "thrilled" and "over the moon" to be in the final.

Beyonce To Appear On Strictly & X Factor

X Factor chiefs are said to be furious that Beyoncé has also agreed to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

Beyonce, who is promoting her new album I Am... Sasha Fierce, has already agreed to appear on the singing contest in December.

However, The Mirror reports that SCD have managed to get the singer to appear on the dancing show at the end of November.

"As far as we are concerned we are the No1 show on Saturday. If X Factor wants Beyoncé, they'll have to wait. She has signed and we've also got Take That confirmed for the coming weeks," a BBC source said.

Meanwhile, an insider at The X Factor said they also have Mariah Carey and Britney Spears lined up. "We aren't happy Beyoncé is doing Strictly, but she is just one of a number of huge names we're getting," the source said.

Stars of the BBC show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Mark Foster and his partner Hayley Holt joined a host of celebrities at Heathrow yesterday on Sunday 19th October to send nearly 200 seriously ill and disabled children on a British Airways’ Dreamflight to Florida.

Celebrating its 22nd year, Dreamflight is a UK charity set up by British Airways cabin crew – that takes seriously ill and disabled children on a holiday of a lifetime to the theme parks of Central Florida.

The roll call of stars included Paralympic athletes Dzaier Neil and Matt Skelhon, as well as TV personalities Sir Cliff Richard, Chico, Patsy Palmer and Emma Barton along with marching bands and children’s entertainers.

British Airways’ chief executive Willie Walsh, who also attended, said, “Dreamflight is always a highlight in the BA calendar – we’re delighted to be able to support this great charity and make dreams come true for these deserving children.”

British Airways has been involved in Dreamflight from its launch and more than 4,000 children have benefited. The cabin crew who operate the flights volunteer their time.
Foster, who is better known as one of Britain’s all time great swimmers said, “It is a pleasure to come down and show our support to Dreamflight. An aircraft hangar is the most unusual place that Hayley and I have ever danced.”

During their ten-day trip the children will visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and MGM studios. The trip will culminate with a final stop to Discovery Cove, for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with dolphins.

Stictly Come Dancing Lineup Revealed

Rachel Stevens and John Sergeant have been confirmed among this year's Strictly Come Dancing lineup.

Male celebrities taking part in the BBC reality show include Andrew Castle, ex-soap star Phil Daniels, veteran actor Don Warrington, chef Gary Rhodes and Holby City's Tom Chambers.

The other female contestants hoping to match last year's winner Alesha Dixon will be Heather Small, Gillian Taylforth, Jessie Wallace, Jodie Kidd, Cheri Lunghi, Christine Bleakley and Lisa Snowdon.

Also taking part in the show are swimmer Mark Foster and rugby star Austin Healey.

Professional dancers Brian Fortuna, Hayley Holt and Kristina Rihanoff have joined the dance competition for its sixth series.

The show, which will be hosted as usual by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, starts on September 20, reports Digital Spy.

Eastenders Stars Banned From Strictly Dancing

The EastEnders cast has reportedly been banned from appearing on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

According to The Sun, producers won't let any of their stars appear on the show because the reality series is now running for 16 weeks.

Christopher Parker (Spencer Moon), Jill Halfpenny (Kate Mitchell), Patsy Palmer (Bianca Jackson), Louisa Lytton (Ruby Allen) and Matt Di Angelo (Deano Wicks) have all appeared on previous series of the dance competition.

"We love the show. But we can’t spare anyone for that long," an insider told the newspaper.

However, Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), who departs the soap later this year, is apparently in talks to appear in the sixth series.

Apprentice Helpers To Go Dancing?

Apprentice aides Nick Hewer and Margaret Mountford have been approached to star in Strictly Come Dancing, according to a report.

The pair, who advise Sir Alan Sugar on the hit BBC show, have reportedly been offered £25,000 each to appear in the dance contest's next series.

A source told the Mail on Sunday, "Nick and Margaret are the unacknowledged stars of The Apprentice and more and more people have been watching it because of them.

"They have really interesting, understated personalities and some of their reactions to what the candidates do in Sir Alan's tasks are wickedly funny."

A BBC spokesperson simply said, "Nothing is confirmed yet."

Hewer, 64, is said to be on the verge of signing for the show and is hoping to persuade Mountford, a 55-year-old lawyer, to appear with him.

Gethin Jones To Leave Blue Peter

Hot on the heels of Konnie's exit - Gethin Jones is quitting Blue Peter after three years.

The BBC confirmed that the 30-year-old is leaving at the end of the current series in June "to explore other avenues".

Jones, who appeared on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, had always planned to step down after three years, his spokeswoman said.

He said, "It's very sad to be jumping ship, but I will still be on-screen until the end of the series whilst working on other projects. I've loved it, lived it ... and now I feel the time is right to leave it." .

Ant & Dec 'Most Watched' TV Hosts

Ant and Dec were the most-watched TV hosts last year, a poll has shown.

The I'm A Celebrity and Saturday Night Takeaway presenters were seen by 51% of the Great Britsh nation at least once. They also hosted

Strictly Come Dancing professional Vincent Simone has claimed that his life is "in ruins" after Matt Di Angelo 'stole' his long-term partner Flavia Cacace.

"I knew that any man who was paired with Flavia would fall in love with her, just as I had," Vincent told the Daily Mail.

Talking aboy 20-year-old Matt, Vincent said, "This one was a baby, a typical young guy. I'd looked him up on the internet and I thought: 'Great - I am safe.' I knew he wasn't the sort of person Flavia would find attractive."

"I just did not see this coming. She has fallen for this baby, this person that I did not even think to be worried about," Vincent continued. "He has her now, and my life is just in ruins. I feel so stupid now. I have been made a fool of, and in front of the whole country.”

However, Matt has insisted that Flavia told him she had split from Vincent before he asked her out.

Matt told The Mirror, "Flavia is very private about her personal life so we've never talked about what happened between her and Vincent but she said they'd split."

Matt added, "He's had a pop at me, saying I was ugly and a rubbish dancer. But we're about to start the Strictly tour so I'll see him then."

"We'll have a chat and I'll say, 'Hey Vince, are we cool?' If there's a problem we'll talk it through, like two grown men. We won't have a duel at sundown. I need him and everyone to know that I didn't steal his girlfriend," continued the Eastenders star.

Alesha Wins Strictly Come Dancing

The current series of Strictly Come Dancing has come to an end and singer Alesha Dixon has been crowned the winner with Eastenders actor Matt Di Angelo finishing second. Well done to all the celebs (and professional dancers) for putting on a fab show.

The finalists danced five dances in the final of the competition - which has lasted about three months.

Matt was very good, but former MisTeeq babe Alesha deserved to win. She is being called "Britain's answer to Beyonce," and this win could well help her on her way.

Kelly Brook Pulls Out Of Strictly Come Dancing

Grieving Kelly Brook has pulled out of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing following the death of her father, reports Daily Mail.

She had initially vowed to continue rehearsals for Saturday's live show in his memory, but found it "too difficult" to concentrate during training.

Her agent Jon Fowler said: "Kelly Brook has decided today to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing to be with her family, following the death of her father on Monday to lung cancer."

Cowell Angry With BBC

Staff on The X Factor have vowed to hit back at the BBC after they accused the corporation of using dirty tricks to up the profile of Strictly Come Dancing.

X-Factor judge Simon Cowell was livid after the BBC revealed the 12 final acts on the web – 24 hours before the show was broadcast earlier this month.

According to the Daily Star insiders on the X Factor are planning to get even by revealing who gets booted off rival show Strictly Come Dancing before it is shown on Sundays.

Cowell admitted he was fuming, he said, "We pay their wages through the BBC licence fee. We do not pay them to ruin people's enjoyment of TV shows. It's incredibly stupid."

X Factor bosses contacted the BBC to complain who then deleted the leaked details from its website after saying the leak was done "in error."

FYI Those Houses Were Not Theirs

Louis Walsh has admitted that the 'judges' houses' that were shown on The X Factor were not really theirs, reports Digital Spy.

When the X Factor contestants travelled to four different places to find out if they will get through to the next round we assumed that the judges took the wannabes to their respective houses.

The groups visited Simon Cowell in Marbella, the boys went to see Dannii Minogue in Ibiza, the girls flew to Los Angeles to meet Sharon Osbourne, while the Over-25s were taken to Dublin by Louis Walsh.

But Walsh revealed on the Graham Norton Show that the houses featured did not belong to any of the judges.

He said, "That wasn't my house. That wasn't Sharon's house or Dannii's house or Simon's house either.

"Sharon sold her house to Christina Aguilera, so that was a rented house. Mine was a rented house. I wouldn't have had all that rubbish in my house - the stuff on the walls and the lights and all that."

A spokesperson for the ITV show said: "The contestants are invited to a house. We call them the judges' houses, not the judges' homes.”

"We have never said they are the judges' real homes and it has been this way for the past four years."

X Factor Beats Strictly Come Dancing

It was ITV vs BBC1 last night as the X Factor went up against Strictly Come Dancing. According to early ratings it was the X Factor that came out on top.

The X Factor got 7.5 million viewers, just beating Strictly Come Dancing which managed to attract 7.4 million people.
