Scooch To Represent UK In Eurovision Despite Results Error

Scooch have won the contest to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, despite a blunder over the announcement of the final winner.

The group's airline themed tune Flying The Flag (For You) and camp dance routine beat five other contenders vying for the chance to represent the UK at Eurovision.

There was confusion in the studio when hosts Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton simultaneously announced different winners.

Seconds later Cotton said Scooch had won the public vote and not Cyndi.

A BBC statement later apologised for the error but confirmed Scooch had won.

"This is live TV and unfortunately sometimes these things do happen," it added.

The blunder comes in the wake of the enquiry into the trustworthiness of premium rate phone-ins on TV shows including Blue Peter and Richard & Judy.

Make Your Mind Up: Vote Big Brovaz

Can you remember the last time that the United Kingdom won the Eurovision Song Contest?

It was way back in 1997 [Katrina & The Waves]

With a disappointing position in last years contest and the unforgettable "nul points" courtesy of Jemini, the UK really needs a fantastic entry to do well this year.

Various acts will be taking to the stage, in the the hope that the people of Great Britain will vote for them to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.

The entry from the Big Brovaz [It's A Big Bro Thang] sounds amazing and has been receiving support from various radio and TV stations, who have been playing their song and video. The song boasts attitude, great beats, powerful rapping and beautiful singing; which are all combined together perfectly one one track.

Goss UK feels that Big Brovaz would do the United Kingdom proud if they make it to Helsinki.
