Girls Aloud performed Promise last night at the BRIT Awards. The song won the group the BRIT Award for Best British single.

Duffy Wins Big At BRITS

Welsh singer Duffy was the big winner at the BRIT awards, taking three awards. The show included performances by The Killers, Lady GaGa and Coldplay.

Take That Lead BRIT Awards Nominations

Reformed boy band Take That could take away one award per member at the BRIT Awards ceremony this year as they have been nominated for four awards. Mika and Leona Lewis also have 4 nominations each.

Mark Ronson, Kate Nash, Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs have 3 nominations each.

BRIT Goodie Bags

Sophie Ellis Bextor thinks that the the best thing about the BRIT Awards was the goodie bags for the presenters, reports The Sun.

She says: “This probably isn’t a very cool comment but the goodie bags were unbelievable. I got a bit obsessed beforehand — I was worried that I wouldn’t get one!”

Sophie managed to get away with two bags and liked what was inside the bags.

She says: “There was a Nintendo Wii, a little pink Gameboy, some iPod speakers . . . it was all good stuff.”

When asked if she would give away the Wii to a fan through her website, she said: “No, that’s been unpacked and set up in my front room!”

Broadcast Live from London, the BRITs were opened with a fabulous performance from Scissor Sisters who performed Don't Feel Like Dancing. Snow Patrol also put on an enjoyable performance, but with less glamour than the Scissor Sisters.

Is it just me, or did Fearne Cotton look a little different and weird?

The Frattellis who won British Breakthrough Act, looked drunk even though [it looked like] they were clutching a bottle of Irn Bru.

Then it was time for the performance I was waiting for. Amy Winehouse had it tough, she had to sing AND keep her hair in place at the same time. It looked like she was dressed as ECW Diva Ariel.

Joss Stone looked erm, colourful.

Lemar was a good sport when he lost out to James Morrison in the Best British Male Category.

Justin Timberlake was crowned as the Best Male Solo Artist, and sent a recorded message, as he is currently on tour.

Jo Whiley [with her gorgeous voice] announced that the Best British Female artist was Goss UK fave Amy Winehouse. Lily Allen looked cool with the decision.

Russell revealed that Britney was not nominated for in the Best International Female category because she has been releasing pics of her vagina rather than songs!

Nelly Furtado [who was looking very cute] fought off tough competition when she was announced as the Best International Female.
The Mirror reports that when a fan told Lily she should have won an award, she responded: "I f**king know."

BRIT Awars Fever

The BRIT Awards will be going out live for the first time since 1989. However, the show will be shown with a 30-second delay to enable producers to censor any offensive material.

Allen, who has been nominated for best female and best album told the BBC "I feel really weird about it. I've never won anything."

She also told The Mirror that she hopes, Grammy nominee Corrine Bailey Rae does not win anyting becuase "she is boring."

Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Scissor Sisters and Snow Patrol will be among the acts performing tonight.

Kate Bans Pete From The BRITs

Supermodel Kate Moss has banned her boyfriend Pete Doherty from attending the BRIT Awards next week, reports The Daily Mirror.

Sources revealed that Kate has felt threatened by Pete and Lily’s friendship.

Kate, 33, herself will not be making an appearance at the BRITs and she has been feeling uncomfortable as Pete cannot stop praising Allen.

Kate discovering a gift that Lily had given to Pete has not helped.

A source told The Mirror: "Kate went ballistic and kept shouting about why he had kept the thing from Lily after all these months.

"Pete insisted that she was being paranoid, they were just mates.

"But Kate was having none of it and said that there was no way that Pete was going to the Brits if Lily was going - especially as she wasn't going herself.

"Pete was gutted as he was looking forward to it."

Pete and Lily were not always the best of friends.

She once called him a w***er, but the pair made up last summer, when they both were on the bill for a festival in London.

The source added: "They promised to keep in touch and Pete didn't think any more of it. "He just considers her to be a mate."

Just friends, or has Kate got a reason to be jealous?

She Told You She Was Trouble!

Luke from the band 'The Kooks' revealed to the the Daily Mirror what actually happened when he paid Amy Winehouse a compliment:

"All I said to her was that I enjoyed her latest album. And suddenly, out of the blue, she had a really massive go at me."

"At one point she told me to f****** pull my head out of my a***. It was really weird. Everyone was just standing around looking at her."

"It’s strange because she was really nice to begin with. But when I went up to her at the photoshoot she suddenly turned really cold."

But Luke says he will not try to avoid Amy if they bump into each other at the Brit Awards on February 14.

This isn't the first time that Amy has showed her bad side.

She famously punched one poor fan after a bust-up at a North London gig.
During Bono's speech at the Q Awards last October,she shouted: "Shut up! I don’t give a f***!"

BRIT Awards: Coming Soon

The Nominees are going to be announced and you can check out the Nominations Party on Tues 16 Jan, 8:00pm - ITV 2.

The BRIT Awards 2007 will take place on Wednesday February 14. The event will be hosted by Russell Brand. Among those performing on the night will be Oasis.

Leona Lewis and Lily Allen will be among those hoping to get nominated for a BRIT.
