Independent - Bettie Page, the raven-haired pinup girl whose naughty-but-nice rompings with whips, garters and high heels titillated a generation of young men and school boys in the 1950s has died at the age of 85. She had suffered a heart attack earlier this month, slipping into a coma. Her career, that some have said laid the foundations for the sexual revolution that came to America in the 1960s, started almost by accident after she discovered that posing for amateur photographers in provocative poses and risqué attire made her more money than working as a secretary.
